Cockerham is a small village and civil parish within the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire. Lying on the River Cocker, at the estuary of the River Lune, the parish has a population of 671. It is a village steeped in history, around the area you can find a number of historic buildings scattered across the landscape, like the Grade 1 listed Cockersand Abbey. Further around the Cockerham Bay coast you can see the Plover Scar lighthouse built in 1847 which acted as a beacon to guide ships into the Lune Estuary towards Glasson Dock.
